Shared Visions

A Youth Section Gathering of Will in North Carolina

5pm Sunday October 26th, 2025 - 1pm Thursday October 30th, 2025

6401 Union Grove Church Rd, Hillsborough, NC 27278.

We warmly invite you to join us at Union Grove Methodist Church for a week of catalyzing individual and collective imaginations. This gathering’s central intention is to provide space and support for new impulses, initiatives and projects, particularly those that call for shared vision and action.

What futures live within each of us and how will these threads weave together? To answer these questions, we will facilitate conversations, learning sessions and workshops to shape, refine, and deepen our ideas through the witnessing and reflections offered by peers and mentors. We will also lean into identifying barriers and beliefs within us that hamper and dissolve our creative will. As we move through the week, we will create environments that both nurture us and give us clarity for the futures we wish to create.

The daily schedule will provide a practical, creative structure that facilitates both inner work and outer action. We will also find opportunities to visit local initiatives aligned with our themes, and engage in hands-on work, play, artistic activity, meals together, music, and other creative outlets.

Themes for us locally include, but are not limited to:

  • Habitation/land-based living

  • Inner growth and development

  • Somatic healing

  • Young adult learning residency

  • Radical agricultural projects

  • Water and land restoration

  • Christian Community connections

  • Small school initiatives

  • A musical-architectural project

Your registration cost covers all meals (bring your own snacks) and camping (bring your own gear) with access to indoor showers and bathrooms. You are also welcome sleep inside of the church on your own mat or sleeping bag. We have a few homestays available and are happy to put you in touch with those offering rooms - just contact us at healingencountersnc@gmail.com.

We will be camping and sharing meals at the church but during the day we may visit other initiatives in the area (we can provide transport) to learn and do work, particularly CommonGround EcoVillage in Mebane, NC.

In an effort to bear as much fruit as possible during our time together, we will be asking everyone to take a couple of preparatory steps. Once registered HERE, please:

  1. Grab your pencil(s) and an 8x11 piece of paper.

  2. Go outside. Find a tree. Or a river. Take a moment to center.

  3. Hold this prompt: What personal project, goal, or initiative is calling upon your attention and courage to be brought into the world? What feels challenging?

  4. On one side of your paper, write your response. On the other side, draw or create an artistic expression of any kind.

  5. Send this letter to: 2104 West Club Blvd. Durham, NC 27705

  6. Thank yourself, and your guides, for committing to this adventure!

We look forward to welcoming you into a special time together in the land of the pines, sharing visions and discovering what new initiatives may be born among us!
